Overall, out of the 10 most popular/common brands of smart home technology – specifically plugs, the two that stood out were the Geeni Smart Dog Smart Wi-Fi Plug, and the Ge Cync Smart Plug. Both are great options, due to being accessible (many different online & in person places to purchase), minimalistic interfaces for all ages, a respective mobile app that can be downloaded on any device, and a four star or higher rating (on a scale of 1-5). Between the two, Ge Cync Smart Plug might be the better purchase, as in the app “Cync” that was curated for these products, has an interface for both phones and tablets separately. Typically many apps create interfaces for one or the other, so the application can look unappealing, or not work properly if not used on the correct device. In addition, Ge Cync Smart Plug has surge protection, while Geeni Smart Dog Smart Wi-Fi Plug does not. Surge protection is a suppressor to protect any electronic equipment from voltage spikes (transients), creating longevity in the product, as well as protection to young children/pets in a household.
